2017 Draft Results & Training Camp Info

Raptors 905, the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, made four selections today in the 2017 NBA G League Draft selecting; Kethan Savage (Round 1, Pick #26), Liam McMorrow (Round 2, Pick #52), Eric Washington (Round 3, Pick #73) and Jamaal Brantley (Round 3, Pick #78). Following the draft, Raptors 905 traded the returning rights to Shannon Scott to the Long Island Nets for the 42nd overall selection, guard Aaron Best. Best, Brantley and Washington were all participants in Raptors 905 Open Tryout held last month.

Savage, 6-3, 205 pounds, spent last season as a member of the Butler Bulldogs after transferring from George Washington. In his lone season with the Bulldogs, he averaged 8.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20.4 minutes of action. Savage recorded a season-high 20 points January 21 against DePaul.

Best, 6-4, 184 pounds, spent last season with Juventus (LKL) after a five-year career with the Ryerson Rams. In 57 games (21 starts), he averaged 7.2 points, 2.8 rebounds in 19.8 minutes. In his final season, Best was named CIS second-team All-Canadian, OUA first-team all-star and Male Athlete of the Year at Ryerson. He is the first player drafted from Ryerson University into the NBA G League.

McMorrow, 7-2, 275 pounds, participated with the New Orleans Pelicans at 2017 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. He averaged 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in three appearances. In 2015-16 he played for Jiangsu of the CBA, he averaged 17.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

Washington, 5-10, 179 pounds, spent last season with Enosis Neon Paralimni in Cyprus. He averaged 13.1 points, 4.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 32.1 minutes. Washington spent his final two collegiate seasons with Miami (OH) after transferring from Presbyterian College.

Brantley, 6-6, 215 pounds played two seasons at Cameron where he averaged 12.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 55 games.

TRAINING CAMP ROSTER AND SCHEDULE

Raptors 905 will have 16 players attending training camp which opens on October 23 and will be held at Mississauga SportZone. Training camp will run for 10 days and include two exhibition games; October 28 against the London Lightning at Budweiser Gardens (7 p.m.) and October 30 against the Erie BayHawks at Hershey Centre (7 p.m.).
