Raptors 905 (29-9) continued to roll Wednesday night, defeating the Northern Arizona Suns (18-19) 102-97, to win its seventh straight game. Will Sheehey led the 905 in his second game back from injury scoring 18 points, while Xavier Silas led all scorers with 26 points for the Suns.
Looking to improve to 14-2 on the road, the 905 started the game strong, jumping out to a 29-20 lead after the first quarter. The team benefitted from 75 per cent shooting from the floor, led by E.J. Singler scoring eight points.
Northern Arizona rallied in the second quarter, scoring 32 points while limiting the 905 to 16 points. Silas scored 12 points in the frame for the Suns who head into halftime leading 52-45.
In the third quarter, the two teams would trade baskets before the 905 went on a 7-0 run midway through the frame to tie the game. Northern Arizona recovered and closed the quarter strong, regaining a seven-point edge, 77-70, headed into the final period of play.
In the final frame, the 905 would take charge, outscoring the Suns 32-20. Sheehey scored nine points in the fourth to seal the team’s league-best 29th win of the season. Raptors 905 now sit atop the NBA D-League with a 29-9 record.
