The NBA Development League announced Monday that Edy Tavares has been named to the Eastern Conference All-Star Team. Tavares is averaging 10.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 28 games.
The native of Cape Verde ranks fifth in the D-League with a .606 field goal percentage and third in blocks per game. Tavares split last season between the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and D-League’s Austin Spurs, Canton Charge and Bakersfield Jam.
Tavares joins Raptors 905 Head Coach Jerry Stackhouse in New Orleans for the 2017 NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire. The game will air live on NBA TV and tips off Saturday, February 18 at 2:30 p.m. ET from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
