Raptors 905 won its first title in franchise history, defeating the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 122-96 Thursday night. Bruno Caboclo led all scorers with a career-high 31 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Troy Williams, assigned by the Houston Rockets in the afternoon, led the Vipers with 23 points. Pascal Siakam was named NBA D-League Playoff’s MVP after averaging 18 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.0 steals.
Toronto Raptors assignees led the 905 in the first half, combining for 43 of the team’s 57 points. After the first 24 minutes of play, the 905 held a 57-49 advantage.
After a 6-0 run to start the third quarter, Raptors 905 would gain control of the contest, outscoring RGV 33-20 in the frame. Caboclo led the way with 10 points, sending the 905 into the fourth with a 21-point lead.
