Raptors 905 have advanced to the second round of the 2017 NBA D-League Playoffs after beating the Canton Charge, 108-90 Saturday night. The 905 dominated from tip-off with four of five starters scoring in double-digits while Brady Heslip paced the team with 21 points off the bench. Kay Felder led Canton for the second-straight contest, posting 22 points in the loss.
E.J. Singler led the 905 in the opening frame recording 11 of his 17 points in the quarter. After outscoring Canton 38-13 in the first, the 905 received another 11-point effort in the second, this time from Heslip, leading to a 65-35 advantage at the half. Felder provided the lone bright spot for the Charge, pouring in 17 first half points.
The third quarter was evenly matched as the two teams posted 30 points each, preserving a 30-point advantage for Raptors 905 headed to the final quarter. Despite being outscored 25-13 in the final frame, the 905 cruised to an 18 point victory and the franchise’s first berth in the Conference Finals. Raptors 905 will face either Maine or Fort Wayne, Maine currently holding a 1-0 series lead.
