Raptors 905 announced Friday it has acquired forward Christian Watford and a third-round pick in the 2017 NBA D-League Draft from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in exchange for forward Jarrod Uthoff. The deal is pending physicals from both players.
Watford, 6-foot-9, 220 pounds, averaged 5.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 20 games with the Mad Ants this season. The Alabama native has played in 53 games in the D-League with Maine, Reno and Fort Wayne.
A four-year player at Indiana, Watford started 130 of 132 games for the Hoosiers, averaging 13.1 points and 5.9 rebounds. He was teammates with current 905 forward Will Sheehey for three seasons.
Uthoff has played in 24 games for Raptors 905 this season, averaging 7.8 points and 4.9 rebounds. He was named First Team All-Big Ten in his final season as a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The 905 are in action tonight, visiting the Westchester Knicks for a 7:00 p.m. contest. The team returns to Hershey Centre for a meeting with Delaware tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
