RAPTORS 905 TRADE FOR SIMMONS

Raptors 905, the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, announced Wednesday the team has traded the returning rights to Sterling Brown and Gabe Brown to the Greensboro Swarm in exchange for the returning rights to guard Kobi Simmons. In a corresponding move, the team has waived guard Keith Williams.  

      Simmons, 6-foot-5, 180 pounds, was most recently a member of the Charlotte Hornets and the Greensboro Swarm, on a two-way contract. In 32 games (12 starts) with the Swarm, Simmons averaged 18.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 31.8 minutes per game.  

      A native of Milton, GA, Simmons owns NBA career stats of 5.3 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 17.7 minutes with the Memphis Grizzlies (2017-18), Cleveland Cavaliers (2018-19), and Charlotte Hornets (2022-23). Prior to his professional career, Simmons appeared in 37 career games (19 starts) in his lone season at the University of Arizona. As a Wildcat he averaged 8.7 points (.395 FG%), 1.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 23.5 minutes.  

      Sterling Brown and Gabe Brown both suited up for Raptors 905 in the 2022-23 season where they posted averages of 15.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.1 steals, and 12.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, respectively. Williams made the opening night roster after appearing in eight games for Raptors 905 in the 2022-23 season. The Brooklyn, NY native averaged 4.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per game.
